My least favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was that we had to walk back and forth back and forth if we got the question incorrect, and I think that the QR Codes were all over the school. I was actually disappointed when we mostly took our whole time in Mr. Evans’s room where we didn’t read the question fully, and in Mrs. Hopkin’s room where we actually got the question right but was marked wrong, and was struggling to change something on the right question. Due to all this coincidence, my partner and I was the last group to enter Mr. Jobe’s room at the end.
What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
If I could change something about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better I would make more stations and make each problem a little clearer. Lastly, another favorite was that it was really competitive because as the questions moved along it was harder every time.
ReplyDelete2) My least favorite part was that there were people who were like a little cheaty about their next destination by following the other groups, it was really unfair. Another one is that the first location (Mr. Healy's room) there was a question involved in inequalities, graphing and shading bottom or top. I remember the answer as bottom, but I saw some people didn't solve and just followed our group which QR code we scanned. (Top or bottom)
3) I would try to extend the time more so we can have more time, and also have more places for clues, extended location limits until like the hills, cages, high school, g building, etc.

Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
ReplyDelete1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
What I liked about the Scavenger Hunt is that it was thrilling. If you got the answer wrong, you would have to go to a wrong station, and go back to the previous one and backtrack. However, this maybe the least favorite part, but I think these things made the scavenger hunt the scavenger hunt. Also, obviously, it was a really good review tool, and in addition, more fun!
2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part of the scavenger hunt is that all of the teams that gets the answer right goes to the same location. Some teams use this opportunity to just follow other teams without really thinking and solving, so this was the least favorite part on my opinion.
3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I would make the scavenger hunt more interesting by adding more interesting traps/activities in the middle to make it more fun, and add more problems, since we only had to solve several problems.
4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun because it would take less time to see the problem, and it avoids the problem where everyone would just rush to look at the problem listed on the paper. It made it more comfortable. However, some QR Codes reading apps did not work well, so I think that was a somewhat minor problem
1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt were the clues. I thought that the clues were very interesting and clever, especially the wrong wrong wrong video. They were very simple, but you had to use your brain to figure the puzzle out.
2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was that we had to go all the way to the PAC, back up to the fourth floor, then down again. Even though the exercise is healthy for us, it was exhausting.
3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I would like to change the part where everyone goes the same direction. If all the groups had a different direction, then they would not follow each other around and know where the next clue is.
4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them because there were lots of interesting videos and images that could probably only be there with QR codes. However, because of the internet connection, sometimes the QR codes were difficult to access and took a long time, which affected the speed of our group’s hunt.
1) My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was that we were able to work as a team to make a final answer. Also, I loved how there were different routes or choices that did not make the winner so obvious. I especially enjoyed the “Wrong Wrong Wrong” song. It made me and Yoo Bin laugh a lot in the secretary’s office.
ReplyDelete2) My least favorite part was that at some questions, only one teammate was able to contribute to the question. If the point was to contribute and work with your teammate, why were there questions that only an individual could answer? Also, the question in Mr. Evans’ room was very unclear, so a lot of teams had trouble answering the question.
3) Some things I would change are that I would not put any individual questions that only one team member can answer. Also, I would make the clues a little more harder so that the teams can think more than just knowing where to go on the top of their head. Then, they would also gain math knowledge, but also logic.
4) I think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun that it would have been without them. It’s because there were funny videos in Youtube that we could see if we got it wrong. Also, I never used QR Codes before, but it definitely would help me in the future because now I know how to use the QR Codes. I would DEFINITELY want to do this QR Code Scavenger Hunt again because it was REALLY fun and entertaining, as well as educational!

4. I think it is more fun because if the actual problem was there, we would all think 'OMG IS IT THIS AGAIN?' but if the QR code was there, we would all think 'OOHHHHH What kind of problem is this?'
What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the scavenger hunt was the part where we were able to review all of the chapters for the final exam. It wan’t just working on worksheets and studying the textbook, it was actually like an active study guide!! So, I think I really enjoyed the scavenger hunt because it was a very good review as it covered all of the chapters and because it was a fun activity to do. Also, the other favorite part was when I was able to work well with my partner Rachel to solve all of the problems. I think it was a great idea to do a partner work. We had very good teamwork and we were able to help eachother. That was my favorite part of the scavenger hunt because I learned the stuff I didn’t know from Rachel.
What was your least favorite part?
My least favorite part of the scavenger hunt was when we had to go all around the whole school. It was really tiring, and at the end I became to lazy to solve hard problems. It was partially because I got a lot of problems wrong, and I had to go to a lot of other classrooms rather than the right ones. So, my least favorite part was the part when we had to run a lot.
What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better?
I think I would make the clues for the places more harder. It would’ve been better if we didn’t have to go to the wrong classroom and just make the clue for the classrooms hard in the first place. I don’t think there is anything else to change because I was able to enjoy it and review it at the same time!
Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I don’t think the QR codes made the hunt more fun because it was not fair for the teams who only had 1 smart phone. Rachel and I were a little slow whem there were 2 QR codes to scan because we only had 1 smart phone we could use. So, I think we should use another program rather than the QR code scanner.
What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the Scavenger hunt was the fun and exciting race to finish. It was fun to find the many clues that led to the next, solve problems, and compete against other teams. I also liked the review aspect of the hunt.
What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part of the Hunt was that it was too short. I think that it would have been better to have harder problems and a longer hunt to get even more final review in. I know this takes extra work but I think that it will be better.
What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
Again, I would make the hunt longer. I would add harder problems, along with more problems to get a better review. I think that the students would benefit more from the extra review.
Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I think that the QR codes were a lot more fun. Instead of having the plain old math problem and clue, there was a fun way to receive the information. I liked the surprise factor too, because you did not no what the clue would be until you scanned the QR code. Also, I enjoyed having a technological factor in the hunt.

I prefer a scavenger hunt without the QR codes because I didn't have a smartphone.
