Bugs Bunny went to pick carrots from his farm. He picked 3 basket of the same amount of the carrots. He gave 9 carrots to Lola bunny for a present. After he gave 9, all that was left was 30 carrots. How many carrots are in each basket?
1) Does the story fit with the equation? Is it functional? Would you actually write this equation from this word story problem? It fits with the equation and it is functional. I would actually write this equation from this word problem. 2) Does it make sense, or is it a little confusing? Discuss what is not clear, and suggest improvements. This makes a lot sense and it's pretty interesting. 3) Are there any grammatical mistakes? How should they be corrected? There aren't any grammatical mistakes. 4) Is the story creative? How could it be made better? This story is not THAT creative, but I do enjoy the characters. It could've been better if they had put more characters and more events. 5) What are the positive points about the word problem?
5) The positive points are that the characters were very interesting and although there weren't that many events it could still be understood and is quite simple.
The story fits perfectly and is a very good demonstration for the equation. It gets to the point really well and is extremely clear. There are some grammatical mistake, however. You must say 'Lola Bunny' and you should say 'After he gave 9 carrots to Lola Bunny, all he had was 30 carrots left'. It is a very creative story. Overall, if I had only seen your word problem, I would have wrote the equation just the way it is. Really awesome job!!!
As the people above who commented said the story fits the question perfectly and if it was my first time learning about equations I would have understood what the story was explaining and how to solve equations very properly.
Bugs Bunny was very hungry. So he took a really colorful baskets and went to pick carrots from his farm. So he collected three baskets full of same amount of the carrots. But then Lola bunny came along and bugs wanted to have tea with her. Then they went to a cafe. But while they were gone, Porky Pig came and stole nine carrots. When Bugs came back, he counted the carrots to make sure they were all there. But, nine were missing. All he had left was thirty carrots. So, how many carrots were in each basket BEFORE Porky Pig stole nine carrots?
