Bob the builder was selling screw driver sets. Each one had 3 screw drivers and he brought 'x' sets of screw driver sets, but that day nobody bought it from him, so he got the total of 3x of the sets and divided into 5 for his 5 friends, and Bob gave 12 sets to each of his 5 friends. How many sets did Bob have at the start? (What is x?)
For the most part, the story made sense. I became confusing towards the end though. You said that there were 12 sets when it should have been 12 screw drivers. It is not clear because it becomes strange because there are to many numbers in the story. For instance: you have 5 in there three time, 3x and 12. There are no grammatical mistakes. Overall this was creative and semi-well thought out. We love the fact that you used a older, somewhat forgotten character from our childhood.
The story does fit with the equation, but it is a bit confusing at the beginning because of so much things happen. The equation and the question is functional, but some part does not make sense. Also, I would struggle to write the equation from the question, but overall, not bad. Again, it did not make sense, and some parts were confusing. The problem is that the story line is unorganized, and needs a bit of organization. No, there was no grammatical mistakes in the story. The story is creative because of the characters and the screw drivers, but the confusing part covers up the creativeness, so it is hard to tell. The positive points about the word problem is that the character and the screw driver part is creative, so overall, not bad.
The part where it says Bob gave 12 sets to each of his 5 friends should be 12 screwdrivers not sets. So clear this part up. Write the numbers into verbal word. ex) 3 -> three Your story was creative and there weren't much grammar mistakes only the part about numbers. Also the story makes sense if you change the 12 sets to 12 screwdrivers. Good Job!
